Get a peek inside Zaha Hadid’s futuristic High Line condo, now complete

March 20, 2018

A news series of photos, captured by photographers Hufton+Crown, have surfaced that showcase the swooping West Chelsea condo at 520 West 28th Street, designed by the late Zaha Hadid. The photos focus building’s facade and amenity spaces, while also highlighting the Space Age condo’s “contextual relationship” to the High Line and the “powerful urban dynamic” that exists between the city’s streets and its surrounding architecture.

The photos give view to the 11-story building from various perspectives, drawing focus to the how the hand-crafted steel facade celebrates Chelsea’s industrial past, while also instilling new design concepts to the area. It’s noticeably quite different from its neighboring buildings that mostly entail brick-facade buildings and a few glassy towers.

Amenities within the development include an IMAX theater, a swimming pool, a spa and fitness center with a juice bar, and common areas that open up onto the High Line. Through the photos, we get a look at the concierge space and the pool area.

The building is home to just 39 luxury apartments, each complete with 11-foot coffered ceilings and kitchens helmed by Boffi and Zaha Hadid Designs. The project has already welcomed residents and last August, a few of the condos made their way to the market as rental listings.
